Who are we?

Welcome to the Alberta Beach Farmers' Market. We are an Approved Alberta Farmers' Market and are sponsored by the Alberta Beach and district Agriculture Society.

The regular season runs every Sunday 11:30am to 3pm from the beginning of May thru to September at the Alberta Beach Agliplex. We also hold Special Markets throughout the year including: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

How do I become a vendor at the Alberta Beach Farmers’ Market?

It’s simple, complete an application. If your product is a fit and not already represented at the market you will likely be approved and receive notification via email within 10 days of when you apply.

How many vendors does the Alberta Beach Farmers’ Market have?

For the 2024 season, we have 41 in the hall, 8 in outdoor enclosures, and another 32 in outdoor stalls.

How much does it cost to be a vendor at the Alberta Beach Farmers’ Market?

That depends on where you want to rent. The following is a list of options available at the market: - Table in the hall (8-foot by 4-foot space table provided) - $25 per market - Outside Enclosure in lot (8-foot by 10-foot covered space) – vendor must provide their table and chair - $35 - Outside Stall in lot (10-foot by 10-foot space) – vendor must provide their tent, table, and chair - $30 Discounts are available for community groups and youth (Under 16).

Do I need any special courses or qualifications to sell food products at the Alberta Beach Farmers’ Market?

Yes, the Alberta Food Safety Basics for Farmers’ Markets is a requirement. Although administered by Alberta Health Services, this course is required by Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development of all food and agricultural vendors selling a food product. The certificate must be displayed in the vendor’s table or stall. If the vendor has completed one of the other approved sanitation and hygiene courses, they are not required to take this home study course. Alberta Food Safety Basics

Are there any vendor categories that have extra requirements?

Yes. Food, cosmetics (including soap and bath bombs), distilleries, and food trucks.

Do vendors require insurance at the Alberta Beach Farmers’ Market?

Currently vendors are not required to carry insurance unless they are preparing food or a food truck. However, we strongly recommend liability insurance for the protection of the vendors.

What are the requirements for a food truck to be a vendor at the Alberta Beach Farmers’ Market?

Food trucks are required to have their own Alberta Health Services Mobile Permit and are subject to regular inspections. Food trucks are also required to carry liability insurance.
